Area Director and Associate/Full Professor, Analytics, Information Systems, and Operations Management
The Analytics, Information Systems, and Operations Management (AIO) Area of the University of Kansas School of Business seeks applicants for Area Director and Associate/Full Professor. This is a full-time, 9-month, academic year, tenured appointment, to begin July 14, 2022. Salary and support are competitive and will be commensurate with experience. The position includes some summer administrative responsibilities that will provide summer salary.
The Area Director serves as the academic and administrative head of the area. Director responsibilities include leading, administering, and coordinating activities within the area, and representing the area to the school and university.  The director has decision making authority over the area budget, participates in all faculty hiring, evaluations and salary decisions, is responsible for coordinating curricula and faculty development within the area, and communicates area accomplishments, needs, and opportunities. Associate or Full Professor responsibilities include teaching two courses each year, mentoring junior faculty and students, and maintaining a limited research agenda.  This position reports directly to the Executive Associate Dean, and indirectly to the Dean. Candidates with prior experience in an administrative or managerial position, in academia or industry, are encouraged to apply.
Job Requirements:

  1.  Ph.D. in a discipline relevant to the AIO area (e.g., Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Operations Management, Management Science, Statistics etc.).
  2.  A record of teaching excellence in business analytics, information systems or supply chain management.
  3.  A record to scholarship as shown through publications to warrant a tenured appointment at the rank of Associate or full Professor.
  4.  Evidence of potential to serve in a managerial capacity within a business school at a research-oriented university of a similar research profile as the University of Kansas.
