Hi all,
The Human-Computer Interaction and Recommender Systems research
(HCI-RecSys) group at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) invites
applications for Ph.D. and research assistants in an environment that
offers creative freedom and support to conduct interdisciplinary
research.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate should demonstrate outstanding academic
performance and a strong background in one or several of the following
research areas:
- Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), e.g., design and evaluation of the
interactive system, user experience design, qualitative research (e.g.,
user interview, focus group, diary study), quantitative data analysis.
- Recommender systems (RS), e.g., user modeling, personalized
recommendations, conversational recommendations, explanations for
recommendation
Besides, we expect from applicants
a bachelor or master degree in Computer Science or related discipline
good programming skills
a good background and interest in human-computer interaction research
fluent English writing and presentation skills
strong team working and critical thinking skills
Positions:
Ph.D. student:
The standard duration for Ph.D. at HKBU is four years. If selected, you
will be offered an internationally competitive scholarship
(https://www.comp.hkbu.edu.hk/v1/?page=rpg_scheme). In addition, you
will have the opportunity to advise undergraduate and graduate students
and contribute to the group's teaching activities.
Research Assistant (RA):
The minimum duration for the research assistant is six months. If
selected, you will be offered a competitive salary based on your
experiences and qualifications.
