Dear IS Colleagues,
For the last five years, I have kept the construct search engine at https://INN.theorizeit.org going as a service to the IS and other behavioral disciplines. It supports roughly 1,000 unique users per week. The project was originally sponsored by the National Science Foundation and provides easy access to 50,000+ behavioral constructs from nine disciplines along with definitions and indicators, and the search engine was described as part of our research on the Construct Identity Fallacy<https://www.researchgate.net/publication/287878556_A_Tool_for_Addressing_Construct_Identity_in_Literature_Reviews_and_Meta-Analyses> published in MIS Quarterly.
Unfortunately, the infrastructure is aging (C#.net and SQL Server 2008 on a Windows 2008R2 Box). The University of Colorado is willing to upgrade the hardware, which would speed it up. There is also the potential for upgrading the search algorithms and adding more constructs, but it would require some technical support in porting and setting up the software on newer versions of .net and SQL Server.
Before sending INN into that gentle night, I thought I’d ask whether there is someone who is willing to take on the technical work of ensuring a smooth upgrade? The person would be credited as an editor for the system and there is potential for collaborative work on the construct data on the site.
Happy New Year, everyone!
Best,
Kai
