*AMCIS 2022*: Minneapolis, August 10-14, 2022

*MINI-TRACK: Cultural and Value Related Aspects in Information Systems *
TRACK: Global, International, and Cross Cultural Research in Information
System (SIG CCRIS)

*Abstract *
In the wake of increased attention towards digital innovation and
transformation, the success of IS projects - or lack thereof – remains a
dominant issue for both research and practice. Cultural aspects have
been identified as a key determinant for IS project success, yet more
research is needed to understand the complexities underlying cultural
and value related aspects in the IS context.
The Covid-19 pandemic has furthermore pushed this topic to the forefront
of scholarly interest, showcasing how culture may impede or support
rapid digital innovation efforts (e.g., remote work, digital business
models, etc.). For example, organizations with different cultural bases
have shown markedly different implementations of remote work, from
extending a culture of trust and self-governance to using remote-work
equipment in order to control their employees in their home-office
environment.

*Full Call for Papers*
This mini-track focuses on organizational and managerial issues of
cultural and behavior related aspects of IS including (but not limited
to) mindset, identity, trust, conflict and knowledge sharing. It aims at
achieving a deeper understanding of culture and value related aspects
required for IS to support recent forms of management (e.g. agile) and
working (e.g. remote), digital resilience during rare events (e.g. the
C-19 pandemic), digital transformation, or networked business
environments, just in general.
We are interested in research aiming at identifying, exploring, or
explaining values in the context of IS; research on the influence of
values on society or organizations – and vice versa; and research on
personal values and managerial conflicts evolving in the context of IS,
such as in case of privacy concerns.
Consequently, we strongly encourage researchers to submit studies
covering different cultural issues (beyond mere cross-cultural studies),
values and their interconnection with society, organizations, and
management in the IS context. Both, qualitative and quantitative
research papers are welcome.

*Potential Topics*
