****************************************************************************
TRACK DESCRIPTION
The rapid advancement of information technologies (IT) and the emerging trends of digital transformation have changed the way today’s businesses operate. These pressing needs have driven businesses to transform their business practices and strategies by adopting and implementing emerging digital initiatives, such as artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, edge computing, internet of things (IoT), and mixed reality (e.g., metaverse), to enhance their speed and capability to respond to the market. As the variety of available IT for digital transformation grows, businesses face challenges of effectively leveraging these new IT resources and strategies to sense and respond to market competition, changing demands, and unexpected social and business crises (like the current pandemic). Such new challenges have continued to evolve due to the growing uncertainties in today’s business environments and market competition.
This mini-track seeks studies that focus on the role of such cutting-edge information technologies in organizational transformations to build digital agility. Some fundamental questions in this area include:
- What are the emerging IT resources and strategies to enhance organizational agility for today’s highly digitalized market competition?
- How should a business implement and utilize these emerging IT resources and leverage their benefits?
- How can the emerging IT strategies and practices help transform a business into an agile organization?
All studies including conceptual, qualitative, and quantitative research investigating the relationship between emerging information technologies and organizational agility are welcome.
