Dear Colleagues:

Please consider submitting your research to the Cyber-Physical System and Infrastructure Security mini-track for AMCIS 2022. See below for mini-track details:

Cybersecurity professionals and academics are aware of the multitude of diverse attack vectors that must be addressed to protect data, systems, and processes. However, we are less prepared to address attacks on Cyber-Physical systems. No longer can we solely focus on networks, databases, etc. and rely on others to consider the traditional guards, gates, and guns. Instead, we must contend with interconnected systems controlling critical infrastructure sectors impacting peoples’ lives and well-being.

The recent shift in focus toward critical infrastructure indicates that protecting Cyber-Physical components, many times represented by Integrated Control Systems (ICS), is just as important as protecting a nation’s physical borders. We have seen attempts on various infrastructure sectors ranging from lax TeamViewer passwords on Water Control Systems to coordinated RaaS ransomware attacks by DarkSide shutting down energy supplies. Large scale nation-state attacks such as Russia’s use of Petya malware on the Ukraine then morph into attacks disrupting large supply infrastructures such as NotPetya on Maersk.

This mini-track will address the multitude of challenges both practitioners and academics face as we work to address attacks and create solutions to protect critical infrastructure.

Mini-track topic focus areas include, but are not limited to:

  *   Cyber-Physical System Security

  * Case Studies on Infrastructure Attacks

  * Organizational Approaches to Infrastructure Security

  *   ICS Security and Challenges

  * Nation state policies and procedures on Infrastructure Protection
