The School of Computer Sciences (SCS) in the College of Business and
Technology at Western Illinois University is actively recruiting for
multiple tenure-track positions. The established School of Computer
Sciences represents an array of disciplines that utilize all manner of
technology to effect innovation and efficiencies in the creation of
industry relevant skills in the context of STEM and related educational
programs. Offering undergraduate degrees in Computers Sciences,
Information Systems (Macomb and QC campus), and Cybersecurity, and graduate
degrees in Computer Science, and Information Systems Concentration in the
MBA program. The school serves approximately 250 undergraduate majors and
125 graduate majors. The Cybersecurity program has been accepted for
review as a National Center of Academic Excellence (NCAE-C) designation.

*Required Qualifications*:
Earned doctorate in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems,
or closely related field. Although preference is given to candidates with
a completed PhD by the appointment start date, ABDs in Cybersecurity,
Computer Science, or Information Systems will be considered. ABDs who have
not completed the PhD within one year from their start date will receive a
terminal contract.(For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from
a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education or
equivalent from an international accrediting body). Demonstrated research
agenda.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a willingness and
the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity,
computer science, and/or information systems. Preference may be given to
candidates with research or teaching backgrounds in computer graphics, big
data, databases, data analytics, or software engineering. Candidates
should also demonstrate a willingness to develop and deliver innovative
courses. For appointment as associate professor, preference will be given
to applicants teaching and pursuing research in cybersecurity.

Since 1902, Western Illinois University has provided outstanding

Macomb, Illinois, is the educational, cultural and athletic center of the

campus in Moline, IL (population 44,000).
WIU's Macomb campus is the educational, cultural and athletic center of the
region. Annually, 12 major theatrical and dance productions and studio
shows are performed, along with outstanding concerts, lectures,
presentations, films, dance performances and more. The Gwendolyn Brooks and
Casa Latina cultural centers offer programs and activities focusing on
Black and Hispanic cultures, while the Women's Center promotes gender
equity through education, support and advocacy. WIU's student organization
for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning and ally
(LGBTQ*A) community provides resources, support and programming. These
cultural and resource centers promote WIU's goal of enhancing diversity,
equity, and inclusion through educational programming and advocacy.
The University's athletics program, based on the Macomb campus, sponsors 17
NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's and women's varsity sports. Football
competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision through
the Missouri Valley Football Conference; all other varsity sports compete
at the Division I level through The Summit League.
