JOB DESCRIPTION

The Undergraduate School of Business of the Kelce College of Business at
Pittsburg State University invites applications for a tenure-earning
position in Computer Information Systems (CIS).

Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities will include CIS courses at the undergraduate and
graduate level.

Another important responsibility is to develop a scholarly research track
commensurate with the expectations of an AACSB-accredited institution.

Additional expectations include advising students, active involvement in
professional organizations, service to the Kelce college, university, and
community, and commitment to student success. Other service duties may
include advising student organizations, participating in recruitment and
retention efforts, and providing support to other Kelce college efforts.

Education and Experience

Required Education and Experience – Time of Hire:

PhD in Management Information Systems or related field from an accredited
university. Applicants with ABD status will be considered. All related
fields are considered but special consideration will be given to the fields
of systems design, web application development, and mobile application
development.

Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the collegiate
level are required.

Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching along with the
ability and desire to develop a scholarly research program commensurate
with the expectations of an AACSB-accredited institution.



Preferred Education and Experience:

Evidence and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and advising.

Ability to develop face-to-face and online courses to add to the
established course curriculum.

Ability to establish an effective research agenda.

Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines (e.g., research,
curricular development, service).
