This announcement illustrates the great relevance of Data Centers in the modern digital world. However, IT/MIS research using Data Centers as the core IT artifact or part of it has been largely ignored at present. Is IT/MIS research biased?

How much published research in top IT/MIS journals is addressing at least 100M problems? IT/MIS has lost practical relevance. Dozens of micro-problems are usually studied. The Ivory Tower paradigm does not provide a path for a useful Science.
PS When you review the current Ph.D. thesis on BA or IE or SE, topics are totally rooted in relevant problems.
