The Department of Information Systems is one of the six departments in CityU's College of Business. The IS department's research productivity is among the best in the world. Five IS faculty members are on Stanford University's 2020 and 2021 lists of top 2% (three are in the top 1%) most highly cited researchers in the world. In addition, the faculty members won numerous research, teaching, and service awards from the Association for Information Systems and City University of Hong Kong. As part of its pursuit of excellence, the University aims to recruit outstanding scholars from all over the world. We invite applications and nominations for the above posts and welcome outstanding candidates to join this successful IS department. These are substantiation-track (i.e. tenure-track) positions.

Duties
Deliver excellent teaching, manage undergraduate and postgraduate courses individually or as a team, and publish top-quality and impactful research. Senior faculty members are expected to assist the department in administrative work and other duties. Successful candidates are expected to teach IS courses at both graduate (Ph.D./MBA/MSc) and undergraduate (BBA) levels. Most undergraduate classes are conducted in the daytime. Evening and weekend teaching for the master's programmes may be necessary. Candidates may also need to supervise projects, internships, and theses.
Requirements
A Ph.D. in Information Systems/Computer Science/Informatics or a closely-related discipline with a strong commitment to high-quality research and excellent teaching in the Information Systems field. Candidates should have the ability to teach at the Ph.D., master's (MBA/MSc), and undergraduate (BBA) levels, demonstrated capability to motivate students to excel in their studies, and passion for student mentoring. Other desirable qualities include the ability to teach AI in business, business analytics, cybersecurity, digital media, digital transformation, FinTech, human-computer interaction, IS strategy, technological innovation, Web design, and other courses in information systems.
Candidates for Professor and Associate Professor should have a substantial track record of research publications in top-tier journals. Candidates for Assistant Professor should have a strong indication of the ability to publish in top-tier journals. Candidates with teaching experience in IS-related courses are at a distinct advantage. For an appointment at a senior level, experience in academic administrative work is a plus.
Salary and Conditions of Service
The remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance. Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable). Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
