Call for Book Chapters: "Development Methodologies for Big Data Analytics Systems – plan-driven, agile, hybrid, lightweight approaches"
Springer Nature - Book Series: Transactions on Computational Science & Computational Intelligence. Series Editor: Prof. Hamid R. Arabnia.
"It is becoming increasingly clear that deployment—getting analytical and artificial intelligence (AI) systems fully and successfully implemented within organizations—is becoming one of the most critical disciplines at all phases of a business data science project." (Davenport and Malone, 2021; p. 2).
" a number of new challenges are emerging in the lifecycle of AI systems, comprising all the stages from their conception to their retirement and disposal. Like normal software applications, these projects need to be planned, tested, debugged, deployed, maintained, and integrated into complex systems." (Haakman et al., 2021; p. 94).
"Despite the advances, existing work on methodologies and life cycles for artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives do not provide complete coverage from conception to production and are limited in the level of technical detail, workforce requirement, and administrative responsibilities of individual phases." (De Silva and Alahakoon, 2022; p. 1).
"On a survey [9] carried out in 2018 to professionals from both industry and not-for-profit organizations, 82% of the respondents did not follow an explicit process methodology for developing data science projects, but 85% of the respondents considered that using an improved and more consistent process would produce more effective data science projects." (Martinez et al., 2021; p. 2).
