The IS group in the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada Las
Vegas is still accepting applications for three open positions. We are
seeking for:
1. Tenure-track assistant professor in information systems
2. Non-tenure-track lecturer / senior lecturer / assistant
professor-in-residence in information systems
3. Non-tenure-track lecturer / senior lecturer / assistant
professor-in-residence in information systems
*Brief job description for the tenure-track position:*
The Department of Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (MET) in the
LEE Business School (LEE) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)
invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Information
Systems. This newly created position focuses on the area of cybersecurity,
and thus expectations are for the new faculty member to conduct research on
cybersecurity that leads to high-quality refereed publications in the top
IS, as well as other business discipline journals. Expectations are also
for the new faculty member to pursue cybersecurity related funding
opportunities from federal (NSF, NIH, AHRQ, etc.), state, and other
agencies and foundations. The faculty member will also teach in the
cybersecurity programs offered by the department, and perform service
activities for the university, school, department, and the profession. The
successful candidate may also be asked to teach in other IS graduate and
undergraduate courses offered by the department. A full list of the various

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*
This position requires a Ph.D. in Information Systems or other related
field, from a regionally accredited college or university. The search
committee may consider ABDs, however, candidates must obtain their doctoral
degrees prior to the start of employment.
The successful candidate will have a strong research program in
Cybersecurity, as evidenced by publications (or advanced stages of
revision) in premier journals and/or a successful history of
receiving/submitting grants from noted federal or state agencies (such as
NSF, NIH, AHRQ etc.) and a substantial research pipeline.
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
Preference will be given to applicants that possess cybersecurity skills
such as incident response, forensics, audit, risk management, security
policy, privacy, applied cryptography, infrastructural security,
authentication, secure software development process and analytics.
Consideration will also be given to candidates who have experience or have
fulfilled the following additional preferences:
· Professional experience in cybersecurity
· Professional cybersecurity certifications
· Experience with cybersecurity tools and products

The Department of Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (MET) in the
Lee Business School (LEE) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)
invites applications for two 9-month, non-tenure track Lecturer/Senior
Lecturer/Assistant Professor-in-Residence positions in the area of
Information Systems (IS). The standard teaching load for a non-tenure track
position is 4 courses (12 credits) per semester. The position requires
teaching as needed undergraduate and/or graduate courses in information
systems, business analytics, cybersecurity, and technical areas in both
on-campus and online modalities and in the various graduate and
undergraduate IS programs offered by the department. A full list of the

advising students, engaging in service activities, and interfacing with the
business community.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*
This position requires an Information Systems (IS)-related master’s
degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United
States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education
Accreditation (CHEA) and an AACSB or ABET accredited research
institution. Credentials
must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
An applicant with an IS-related PhD degree will be given preference. We
will also give preference to applicants with a commitment to excellence in
teaching, including evidence of effective teaching. Evidence of having
taught at least one course in the IS area is preferred. Preference will
also be given to applicants with prior academic or industry experience. The
title of the position will be appropriately determined based on the
academic degree and experience possessed by the candidate. A candidate with
a terminal PhD degree will be considered for the title of Assistant
Professor-in-Residence. A candidate with only a master’s degree and with
significant experience will be considered for the title of Senior Lecturer.
A candidate with only a master’s degree but without significant experience
will be given the title of Lecturer.

*PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT*
This position is in the Management, Entrepreneurship & Technology
Department (MET) within the AACSB accredited Lee Business School. Home to
approximately 4,000 students, including 500 graduate students and 85
faculty members, the Lee Business School offers five master’s degree
programs, including an Executive MBA, and nine undergraduate degree
programs.
Please note, that this position resides within the Lee Business school in
the MET Department. Thus, tenure and promotion considerations are
consistent with other IS departments housed within AACSB business schools.
The cybersecurity program is an interdisciplinary program offered jointly
by Computer Science and MET, however. Thus, the individual will have an
opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from the engineering college, as
well as the MET Department.
MET is committed to increasing the research profile of LEE. The department
consists of 25 full-time faculty, including 23 tenured and tenure-track
faculty, spanning the disciplines of IS, Management, and Entrepreneurship.
The IS area within the MET department consists of 11 full-time tenured and
tenure-track faculty members.
Current MET faculty members publish in premier journals within the business
discipline, such as *MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal
of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for
Information Systems, Management Science, Academy of Management Journal,
Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and
Organizational Behavior *and* Human Decision Processes*, among others. MET
faculty have also published in other reputed journals outside the business
discipline, such as in medical informatics (*Journal of the American
Medical Informatics Association) *and psychology (*Psychological Methods*)
and have received grants from prestigious US Federal Agencies (e.g., NSF,
AHRQ).
Notably, the last five years of publication data (2016-2020) ranks UNLV IS
faculty at 53rd in the world for publications in the AIS Senior Scholars
basket of eight journals. IS faculty members also hold senior editorial
positions at top IS journals and have received major awards from the field,
including AIS Early Career Award, *JAIS* Best Reviewer Award, and others.

Las Vegas is near the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Mount Charleston, and Red Rock
Canyon National Conservation Area, and within comfortable driving distances
of other metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, and
Salt Lake City. Attractions such as Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Lake
Powell, and the Grand Canyon are within easy driving distances as well. Las
