Symposium in Honor of Dr. Jatinder (Jeet) N. D. GuptaFriday, November 4,
2022 at the University of Alabama in HuntsvilleCall for Papers
The College of Business at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is
honoring Dr. Jeet Gupta for his academic contributions and his professional
career spanning over half a century. We are organizing a symposium, and we
invite submission of papers and proposals for presentations and panels. The
symposium will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 on the UAH campus. The
symposium coincides with Dr. Gupta’s retirement at the end of Fall 2022,
and his 80th birthday this year.
Dr. Jeet Gupta holds the position of Eminent Scholar, Professor and
Director of Integrated Enterprise Lab at the College. He is an
international authority in research and teaching in the field of production
scheduling and in addition to being a prominent scholar in a diverse set of
disciplines that include Supply Chain Management and Information
Technology. He has over 300 publications, many in collaboration with
scholars from across the globe. Renowned for his work on Scheduling, Dr.
Gupta has published in the Operations, Operations Management, Supply Chain
Management, Information Systems and Strategy, Enterprise Systems and
Cybersecurity disciplines among others. He has served as the president of
the Decision Sciences Institute and the Production and Operation Management
Society, been recognized as a Fellow in both societies, and recently
received the Dennis E. Grawoig Distinguished Service Award from the
Decision Sciences Institute. He continues to be highly productive with
dedication, energy, and enthusiasm for making a contribution with his
research.
We invite submissions on all topics but especially those that speak to Dr.
Gupta’s research interests, or research that builds on his prior work. We
encourage doctoral students and scholars in the early stages of their
career to present their unpublished research at the symposium.
We also invite proposals for presentations and panels. Please submit an

). Proposals for presentations and panels should be about 500 words.
Submission deadline: Monday, September 19, 2022. Submissions will be
reviewed as they are received. Participants will be informed of their
acceptance no later than Friday, September 30, 2022.
The conference will take place on the campus of the University of Alabama
in Huntsville. Transportation between the hotel and the conference venue
will be provided for attendees. We have reserved a block of rooms at the AC
Hotel in downtown Huntsville. Attendees are expected to make their own
