*Responsibilities *
We are seeking faculty colleagues with interdisciplinary, sociotechnical
systems research interests. Candidates should be able to articulate a
research agenda that fits within the broader research interests of the
iSchool and demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a highly
interdisciplinary environment. Portfolios of research and teaching could
include *human-computer interaction*, *cybersecurity*, *human-centered
computing*, *user experience* (UX), *data management*, *data science*, *social,
and cultural informatics*.
Successful applicants will be expected to teach at all levels, including
courses in the school’s bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs;
experience with teaching online, as well as face-to-face, is preferred.
Faculty typically teach 2 courses for 2 semesters (fall and spring) each
academic year. All faculty members are expected to advise students and to
serve on School, College, and University committees.
*Qualifications *
Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in
information science, information technology, computer science, or another
relevant discipline.

is nationally ranked among the top information science graduate schools in
the country. The iSchool's Information Technology Masters' program is
nationally ranked at #6 among IT programs, #4 among IT programs for
veterans, and the ALA-accredited Master's in Information is ranked among *U.S.
News & World Report's* “Best Graduate Programs in Library and Information
Science” as 12th overall, 3rd in Youth Services, and 1st in School Library
Media. School of Information faculty have been awarded over $60 million in
federal, state, local, and foundation research grants, and maintain strong
connections to the community through various information, literacy, and
service initiatives.
The School of Information is one of three academic units within the College
of Communication and Information at Florida State University. The FSU
iSchool offers a Bachelor’s degree program with majors in Information
Technology (IT) and Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT);
Master’s degree programs in Information Technology and Information; a
post-Master’s Specialist degree in Information; and a Ph.D. program in
Information. The iSchool faculty also operate the iSensor Lab, eHealth Lab,
and are founding partners in FSU’s Innovation Hub, an innovation center and
fab lab/makerspace for teaching and research with technologies including 3D
printing and 3D visualization.
