Fully-funded Ph.D. Positions in Information Systems at Questrom School of Business, Boston University

Opportunity: The Information Systems (IS) department at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business invites applications for its Ph.D. program from motivated and intellectually curious candidates. Applicants should have a prior degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or another relevant technical degree. Relevant experience in research is desirable but not required.

Questrom provides Ph.D. students with a generous stipend and tuition support for five years. Additional funding is also available to support research and conference travel.

Faculty: Our world-class faculty<https://www.bu.edu/questrom/faculty-research/academic-departments/information-systems/our-faculty-phds/> conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of Information Systems, Economics, and Machine Learning. Our faculty include global experts in the areas of fintech, digital healthcare, online reputation systems, platform economics, and social media, among others. Our faculty serve on the editorial boards of several leading management journals, including Management Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, and Marketing Science. These events create great collaboration opportunities for our faculty and students.

Student Research and Accomplishments: Ph.D. students from our department have joined tenure track faculty positions at top research Universities worldwide in recent years (e.g., the University of Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, McGill University). Our students have also won best paper awards at flagship conferences and workshops in the discipline, including the Conference on Information Systems and Technology (CIST), the Workshop on Information Systems and Economics (WISE), and the Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems (WITS). Finally, our students’ research has appeared in several top journals, including Management Science, Information Systems Research, and MIS Quarterly.
