THE DEPARTMENT: The School of Computer Sciences offers a B.S. and an M.S.
in Computer Science, a B.S. in Information Systems at Macomb and Moline,
and a B.S. in Cybersecurity. The faculty of 20 members serves approximately
250 undergraduate majors and 310 graduate majors.

*Requirements for Instructor - Information Systems:*

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master's degree in information
systems or closely related field; prior teaching experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants satisfying the required
qualifications are encouraged to apply. Preference may be given to
candidates with any or all of the following:
a) Master's or Ph.D. in Information Systems
b) teaching experience in introductory information systems courses, systems
analysis and design, advanced use of spreadsheet and/or database
applications
c) relevant industry experience
d) business or computer science background
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally
accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent
from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the
degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicant will teach a range of
information systems courses. This is a teaching position where the teaching
load is four courses per-semester with 12 contact hours per week.

Student Resources

There are more than 200 student organizations at Western that provide

Numerous concerts, lectures, films, dance performances, cultural events and

theatrical and dance productions and studio shows, and a variety of

resource centers: The Gwendolyn Brooks, Casa Latina, the Women's Center,

WIU Intercollegiate Athletics (wiu.edu/athletics)

The University's athletics program, based on the Macomb campus, sponsors 17
NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's and women's varsity sports. Football
competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision through
the Missouri Valley Football Conference; all other varsity sports compete
at the Division I level through The Summit League.
