Postdoctoral Position in Use-Inspired AI at the McCombs School of Business.

I have an opening for a 2-year postdoctoral position in Use-inspired AI research focusing on exciting Human-AI collaboration research for high-stake decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity for researchers who seek to develop an impactful use-inspired AI research agenda and who seek to meaningfully engage with stakeholders and have impact on decision-making in practice. The project is in collaboration with a leading university-based medical center, and aims to simultaneously advance human-AI collaboration research and meaningfully benefit critical, life-saving decisions in practice.


The postdoctoral researcher will join a team of an interdisciplinary faculty and Ph.D. students across multiple colleges, enjoy mentorship opportunities of talented and enthusiastic Ph.D. students, and have unique access to and collaboration with expert decision-maker who routinely make high-stake, life-saving, decisions.

The postdoctoral researcher will also join a vibrant AI research community at the University, become a member of The University of Texas at Austin’s Machine Learning Laboratory (https://ml.utexas.edu/) , and contribute to The University of Texas at Austin’s Use-Inspired AI cluster, which serves as an interdisciplinary platform for use-inspired AI research on the UT Austin campus.
Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in a relevant field of research,  demonstrated ability to conduct independent, high quality AI research, open-minded and comfortable working in an interdisciplinary team, and who are enthusiastic about advancing the state of the art of use-inspired AI research.
