Pune (Maharashtra, India), is the pioneer of liberal education in India.
With a strong focus on interdisciplinary research and teaching, the Faculty
of Computing and Data Sciences at FLAME University has strengths in
artificial intelligence, machine learning, data sciences, software
engineering, semantic web, cyber-physical systems, smart cities,
mathematical modeling, cryptography, satellite remote sensing, education
research and learning analytics. FLAME University offers undergraduate as
well as postgraduate programs that allow students to gain rigorous
interdisciplinary training and opportunities to complement their research
activities, build networks/professional references, and advance their
career aspirations.
The Faculty of Computing and Data Sciences stands for intellectual freedom,
curiosity, and academic integrity. Faculty is establishing the FLAME -
Machine Intelligence Research Institute (MIRI), uniquely poised to develop
educational models to catalyze innovation and upskill the next generation
for digital transformation. The Institute represents a multi – inter and
transdisciplinary research center to provide a strategic initiative and
direction in a number of research areas stemming out from different
faculties and departments in the University and various sectors of the
Government and Industries based in India and abroad. MIRI plans to bring
together various disciplines and the ongoing research work will be
leveraged for production of high-quality research outputs in International
peer reviewed journals, increasing the number of graduates, as well as the
exploration of new multidisciplinary applications resulting in further
opportunities.
The Faculty is inviting applications from highly research-active candidates
for full time post-doctoral positions in artificial intelligence and
machine learning. These multi-year program projects are funded by multiple
foundational - industrial grants during 2023 - 2025. Those with a mix of
experience in academia and industry will be preferred.
A successful applicant may work on one of the following projects:
- Build heuristic-based efficient and compact function approximation
methods using machine learning and approximate reasoning schemes.
- Integrate other machine learning schemes with the concept of deep
learning. The idea is to have an integrated framework complementing the
strengths and weaknesses of each model.
- Hands on real-world problems dealing with different deep learning models
with the objective of automating the learning process and compacting the
network architecture.
- Investigate data quality in IOT networks. The goal is to investigate data
corruption and data loss in sensor networks.
The successful candidate will participate in the initiation of the research
projects and is expected to carry out his or her projects independently.
Applicants should receive a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science. Experience in
industrial projects and working in an interdisciplinary team environment

project
· Trouble-shooting and problem-solving as related to the research
project
· Record results of experiments: Tabulate research data and keep a
detailed, easy to understand laboratory notebook
