Position Description	
The Department of Information Systems and Analytics (ISA) in the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position beginning Fall 2023. The selected applicant will be expected to perform high-quality research that leads to peer reviewed scholarly publications, and to teach undergraduate and graduate Information Systems and Analytics courses with emphasis in database, data warehousing, cloud computing, machine learning, or software development courses. Additional job duties include service at the department, college, university, and professional levels. Faculty will be required to teach courses at both the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses. All positions are subject to the availability of funds.

The College is AACSB-accredited, has grown more than 30 percent over the last 10 years, and serves over 4,200 undergraduate and nearly 500 graduate students. The ISA Department offers the Master of Science in Data Analytics and Information Systems and contributes to the Master of Business Administration.

Required Qualifications	
For the Assistant Professor rank, candidates must have an earned Ph.D. or be ABD from an accredited institution in Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or Data Analytics. ABD candidates are expected to successfully defend their dissertation by the date of hire. In addition, candidates must have presentations at the conference in the information systems field or publication in the conference proceedings.

For the Associate Professor rank, candidates must have an earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or Data Analytics. In addition, candidates must demonstrate both a sustained record of publications in high quality academic journals and a record of teaching and service accomplishments. To be eligible for hire at the associate rank, the candidate must meet the requirements for that rank as established by the University and the department. The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on standards established by the University and department.

Preferred Qualifications	
In addition to the required qualifications listed above, candidates with the following qualifications are preferred:
1. Ph.D. from AACSB accredited business school.
2. Previous teaching experience in the areas of database, data warehousing, cloud computing, machine learning, or software development courses.
3. Experience teaching at the graduate level.
4. Evidence of effective teaching.
5. Experience with teaching online/hybrid courses.
6. Publications in peer-reviewed high quality journals.
7. Research experience in the areas of database, data warehousing, cloud computing, or machine learning.
8. Proficiency in Python, Java, and machine learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow, Apache Spark, and PyTorch).
9. Proficiency in SQL and big data frameworks (such as Hadoop and SAP HANA).
10. Professional or industry experience in the areas of database, data warehousing, cloud computing, or machine learning
