Position Title: Lecturer of Commerce - IT&I Area
Full-Time
Location: Charlottesville, VA
The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia invites
applications for a full-time General Faculty position at the Lecturer rank
(tenure ineligible). This position will entail teaching 24 credit hours.
Key responsibilities will include course development and instruction for
one or more courses that are part of McIntire’s new General Business Minor
(GBM), launching in the Fall of 2023. The minor will be open to all UVA
undergraduate students who are not enrolled in the BS Commerce program. The
minor curriculum includes a 1.5-credit required Information Technology &
Innovation (IT&I) area course, Digital Skills for the Workplace, as well as
multiple IT&I electives. These courses will be developed so that they can
be delivered both in person and online.
Teaching the required minor course will comprise roughly half of the
24-credit load. The other portion of the load will consist of an
undergraduate elective course on Project and Product Management, minor
elective courses, or courses the area offers in other undergraduate and
pre-experience graduate programs.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field required; Ph.D. strongly preferred.
Applicants must have at least 2 years teaching IT/IS courses, particularly
at the introductory level, in undergraduate or graduate programs.
Professional project management experience is highly preferred. Experience
with course design and online delivery are also preferred.
