Call for Papers

Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) 2023
Panama City, Panama, August 10-12, 2023

Track: Adoption and diffusion of information technology (SIG ADIT)
Mini-track: Adoption and Diffusion of Digital Technology

We invite submissions to the adoption and diffusion of information technology (SIG ADIT) mini-track at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) 2023 to be held in Panama, August 10-12, 2023.

Emerging digital technologies are reshaping industries and changing user behaviors and expectations. The adoption of emerging digital technologies has been accelerating and is expected to grow exponentially. This mini-track aims to enhance knowledge regarding the adoption and diffusion of digital technology. We invite all papers related to the adoption and diffusion of IT that do not fit into other mini-tracks in this track. This mini-track solicits expositions and investigations of both qualitative and quantitative natures. Analyses at different levels (individual, group, organizational, societal, and cultural) using a variety of methods (e.g., survey, experimentation, case study, and analysis with observational data etc.) are all welcome.

We invite both completed and research-in-progress papers. Topics to be discussed include but are not limited to:

  * Adoption, use, and discontinuance of emerging digital technologies
  * Motivators and inhibitors of acceptance and use of digital technologies
  * Positive and negative impacts of digital technologies on various stakeholders (e.g., individual users, organizations, and societies)
  * New theoretical/methodological perspectives on IT adoption, implementation, and diffusion.

This mini-track calls for research that dives into uncharted waters and brings novel theoretical, methodological, and practical insights into the implementation, adoption and use of digital technologies across multiple contexts and users.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  *   January 6, 2023: Manuscript submissions open
  *   March 1, 2023: Submissions are due at 10 a.m. EST
