Position: PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - INFORMATION SYSTEMS
The School of Business Sciences (SBS) is one of six schools in the Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. The school offers an active research environment and unrivalled access to industry and international bodies as a result of being located in the country's industrial heartland. It delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Information Systems, Marketing, Human Resources Management & Management and Insurance & Risk Management. The School is looking to hire PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR in the core Information Systems areas of systems analysis and design; database design; and systems development and implementation (coding/programming). Preference will be given to applicants with in-depth knowledge and proven experience in one (1) or more of these areas. A track record of work experience in a technology-related role and being NRF-rated will be highly advantageous.
The successful applicant will be expected to: * Actively participate in research and supervision of postgraduate students. * Design, teach and administer undergraduate and postgraduate courses. * Participate in the running of the Division through academic citizenship and administrative activities. * Identity research projects for development for sourcing funding. * Ability to collaborate and work with national and international scholars.
