CALL FOR WORKSHOPS & PANEL SESSIONS

The Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS) 2023 aims to
offer panel and workshop sessions as part of the annual conference.
Information systems (IS) scholars and practitioners are invited to
submit panel and workshop session proposals for PACIS 2023.

We invite panels that facilitate debate and discussion of contemporary
issues in IS research, practice, and teaching. Panels are expected to
engage the panelists and the audience in a debate that stimulates
engagement and enhances the learning experience with the aim of
advancing the IS community and the topic forward to greater
understanding. The topics of panels might vary, but in general, they
should refer to new and challenging research questions, novel research
challenges, changes to the discipline's status quo, and
technology-driven transitions that give rise to problems worthy of a new
research agenda.

In addition, we welcome workshops delivered by researchers and
practitioners on specific IS-related topics. The aim of the workshop
should be to foster and build communities of interest among scholars.
They should provide an opportunity to generate ideas, challenge
assumptions, think creatively, inspire action, and forge new
partnerships.

We invite submissions on all facets of the conference theme: Navigating
Digital Turbulence and Seizing New Possibilities. The panel session will
be conducted on Friday, July 8, 2023*. It is scheduled as an in-person
meeting from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Beijing time (July 7, 8:30 pm to July 8,
05:30 am US Eastern Time). The scheduling of panels will be determined
based on submissions. Workshop sessions will be on July 11 (Tuesday) and
July 12 (Wednesday).

the following information:

  	* A brief description on the primary audience being targeted and the
expected number of participants.

  	* For panel sessions: A description of the topic to be debated or

between panelists and the audience and a brief position statement and
biographies for each panelist. Panel proposals will also be required to
include a participation statement stating that all panelists have
committed to attending the conference and serving on the panel if the
panel is accepted.
  	* For workshops: A description of the workshop, including objectives
and planned activities.
  	* _All the proposals should be submitted to three workshop session

REVIEW CRITERIA

  	* Proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the panel and workshop
co-chairs.
  	* The review criteria for panels will include the novelty of the
topic, the format of the panel, the diversity of opinions within the
panel, the implications of the panel for research and practice in IS,
and the likelihood of attracting a wide audience.
  	* We intend to provide workshop organizers with early feedback on
similar workshop proposals, allowing them to consider mergers (or
modifications to make workshops more distinct) in advance.
