At the University of Bremen, we are seeking to fill a professorship position
(m/f/d) in the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics - subject to the
release of budgetary funds - for the winter term 2023/24 in the field of
Business administration, especially technology and innovation
reference number: P730/23
in the pay grade W2. If the general civil service requirements are met, the
position will be tenured.
We are looking for a personality with first international publication
success and teaching experience appropriate to the advertised career level.
The professorship represents its field in research and teaching, develops it
further, and contributes to the international scientific profile of the
faculty.
The professorship should deal with modern, especially digital technologies.
In this context, we see the professorship having a strong connection to the
graduate group Diginomics at our faculty and expect a significant
contribution to the further development of this group. The education of
young scientists is of particular interest, and the professorship should
contribute to a structured PhD education within the group, the faculty, or
the university.
The faculty is open to diverse research approaches. The professorship can
pursue qualitative, design-oriented, or quantitative approaches that deal,
for example, with platform-based innovations, the management of open
innovation processes, the development of digital product and service
systems, and/or the assessment of particular types of innovation (e.g.,
within a circular economy or focused on frugal thinking).
Participation in and experience with relevant initiatives for acquiring
research-oriented third-party funding are expected, and a willingness to
engage in interdisciplinary collaboration is a prerequisite. On the
university side, there are excellent opportunities for cooperation with our
research focus areas such as "Material Sciences and their Technologies" or
"Minds, Media, Machines". In teaching, the professorship will provide
profile-forming impulses for the further development of the cooperative
degree programs in engineering, information technology, informatics, and
management, but will also teach in the business programs. The ability to
offer courses in English (and, in the long run, in German) and the
willingness to participate in the academic self-administration in the
Faculty of Business Studies and Economics are expected.
In a successful applicant, we will be looking for a special aptitude for
scientific work - demonstrated by a relevant university degree, a relevant
doctorate, and other outstanding achievements equivalent to a habilitation -
as well as pedagogical aptitude and a willingness to undergo further
training in higher education didactics.
The appointment is based on §18 BremHG and § 116 BremBG.
The University of Bremen strives to increase the proportion of women in
science. It has received several awards in DFG programs on gender equality.
Applications from female and male scientists with a migration background as
well as international applications are expressly welcomed. Severely disabled
applicants with essentially equal professional and personal qualifications
are given priority.
Applications with the usual documents should be submitted in writing by
April 14, 2023, quoting the reference P730/23 to the Dean of the faculty
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jochen Zimmermann at: Faculty 7, P.O. Box 330440, 28334
Bremen or by email to: dekanfb7 <a> uni-bremen.de. The Dean is also
available to answer any questions you might have.
