*AMCIS 2023, Wednesday, August 9, 8:30AM*

*Workshop:* *Location Analytics: Research, Innovation, and Inclusion in the
Americas*

This workshop covers principles of Location Analytics, including the latest
applications and examples of spatial research on Digital Divides in Latin
America, Social Inclusion, and Product Innovation. Participants will gain
insights into how to use these and other approaches to expand their IS
research, as well as opportunities for networking and collaboration. The
workshop has the broad themes of what location analytics offers IS faculty
and students, how GIS can be applied in IS research, and how meaningful
GIS’s applications and outcomes are for the Americas, with a special
attention to Panama and Mexico.

The Keynote by Dr. Ante Salcedo of Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México
explores Spatial Aspects of Digital Inclusion in Rural Mexico. An invited
talk will also be given by a local expert on implementing geospatial
decision-making solutions in Panama. Participant discussion is emphasized
in two workshop segments: one to provide time for participants to discuss
GIS research and a second an open discussion by the participants of the
workshop’s ideas and content.
