The University of Oklahoma (OU) invites applications to fill a tenure-track Associate/Full Professor position in the MIS division starting in the Fall of 2024. Our strong programs in the MIS division build on a history of excellence, distinguished faculty members, and an active industry partnership. The division offers an undergraduate major and minor in MIS, graduate in-person and online programs, and a Ph.D. degree. The MIS undergraduate program is ranked in the top 20 (#18) in in the recent U.S. News. The undergraduate and graduate programs are highly ranked by other agencies as well. The MIS Division operates the Center for MIS Studies (CMISS), an industry-academic partnership through which faculty and business partners collaborate on research and curriculum development. The division has an active MIS Student Association, provides sizable student scholarships annually, and enjoys strong support from the university and industry partners. Faculty members are world-renowned, engaged in thriving research programs, generate external research funding, hold leadership positions in leading journals and conferences, and are outstanding teachers. The University of Oklahoma is classified as an R1 (Very High Research University), by the Carnegie Foundation, generates large amounts of research funding, and has a growing number of endowed faculty chairs and professorships. Norman, where the main campus is located, is a culturally rich and vibrant town located just outside of Oklahoma City, and close to other major cities.
Qualifications
Candidates must have an earned PhD in MIS or related disciplines and must have an established record of excellence in research and teaching. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests align well with the division's areas of research and whose teaching abilities include undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level courses. Salary is competitive and will depend upon qualifications.
