Open Access Trust and Safety Course Material - Stanford Internet Observatory

If you are teaching Trust & Safety issues (including Fake News but also beyond), this might be just the resource for you. In a collaborative effort between academics and industry experts led by the Stanford Internet Observatory, the T&S Teaching Consortium has created 13-module open-access teaching materials on Trust and Safety topics. We give open access to full slide decks, proposed reading lists, in-class exercises, full-course exercises, and even pre-recorded lecture videos. We currently cover the following topics:

*Introduction to Trust and Safety
*Government Regulation
*Metrics and Measurement
*Content Moderation
*Information Environment
*Terrorism, Radicalization, and Extremism
*Harassment and Hate Speech
*Child and Adult Sexual Exploitation
*Suicide, Self-Harm, and Well-Being
*Authentication, Identity, and Platform Manipulation
*Types of Attack Surfaces
*Emerging Technologies and Career Advice

Slides and reading materials are updated every 6 months. You can find all content here: https://github.com/stanfordio/TeachingTrustSafety

In case you end up using any of the material, we would appreciate if you could drop us a note at trustandsafetyjournal at stanford.edu<mailto:trustandsafetyjournal at stanford.edu>. That helps us track the usefulness of our material and build a community of experts.
