As we end a successful year, I would like to take a moment to update the IS community about all things MISQ.
First, I want to extend another thank you to Editor-in-Chief Andrew Burton-Jones for his extraordinary service to MIS Quarterly. His leadership and ambition have had a significant impact on the future of the journal.
I would also like to thank our retiring senior editors and associate editors for their dedication and distinguished service to the journal. Andrew Burton-Jones has sent a note recognizing the retiring editors.
I would like to now introduce and welcome the exceptional scholars who will be joining the editorial board in January 2024:
Senior Editors:
Xiao Fang, University of Delaware
Miguel Godinho de Matos, Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics
Julia Kotlarsky, University of Auckland
Stefan Seidel, University of Cologne
Heshan Sun, University of Oklahoma
Anjana Susarla, Michigan State University
Eric Zheng, University of Texas at Dallas
Associate Editors:
Margunn Aanestad, University of Oslo
Michelle Carter, The University of Manchester
Yong Ge, University of Arizona
Brent Kitchens, University of Virginia
Zhijie Lin, Tsinghua University
Sabine Matook, University of Queensland
Markus Weinmann, University of Cologne
In 2024, there will also be a few changes to editorial policies regarding manuscript submissions. They include:
* Significance statements: These statements will now be required at the time of acceptance, not at the time of submission.
* Reviewer nominations: You can nominate anywhere from zero (0) to four (4) reviewers in your cover letter.
* Revision response document length: While we hope authors will avoid overly long responses, there will be no length limitation for these documents. To keep things brief, avoid copying sections of your paper into your response documents.
* Cover letter: With these changes, there are a few changes to the MISQ cover letter. You can find an updated version here: https://misq.umn.edu/writing-a-cover-lette<https://misq.umn.edu/writing-a-cover-letter>r<https://misq.umn.edu/writing-a-cover-letter>
We appreciate the community for your support, and we look forward to an exciting 2024!
