CALL FOR PAPERS

Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Forum to be held in conjunction with
the International Conference on Business Process Management (BPM 2024)

1-6 September 2024, Krakow, Poland

https://bpm2024.agh.edu.pl/call-for-cee-forum/

DESCRIPTION

BPM methods and approaches applied in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)
countries can face numerous specific challenges due to cultural,
political, regional, or organizational differences and the various
nature of the business processes. These differences might stem from the
challenges posed by the business environment, IT-related specifications,
IT legacy, country-specific legislature and regulations, and the
differing levels of digital literacy. Although organizations from CEE
countries apply the same BPM methods, technologies, and approaches as
non-CEE countries, while responding to the specific challenges, they
create alternative experiences that might be valuable for better
understanding BPM in various contexts and regional conditions.
Due to this specific environment and context, BPM research conducted in
CEE countries has the potential to further develop the theory and
practice of BPM and allow testing of existing BPM methods and techniques
against the mentioned specifics of CEE countries. This is crucial not
only for general BPM research but also for providing better alignment of
the BPM methods with the CEE specifications. A better understanding of
BPM in the CEE region would enable practitioners to avoid the issues
faced in these countries in the process of BPM adoption and be a
valuable contribution to the general BPM field.
The main objective of this CEE Forum is to provide a discussion and
dissemination platform for researchers and practitioners conducting BPM
research relevant to CEE countries. Therefore, the CEE Forum invites
practitioners applying BPM methods and researchers conducting BPM
research in CEE to submit their work to ignite discussions and
collaborations to advance BPM theories and practices focused on issues
important to CEE countries.

The CEE Forum is open to all methodological approaches and
contributions. Topics of interest related to BPM in the specific context
of CEE include, but are not limited to:

·national or organizational culture context;
·comparison between CEE and non-CEE context;
·comparison between private and public sectors;
·process changes due to digital transformation or digital innovation;
·customization of methods, tools, or software;
·business value;
·measurement of process maturity;
·challenges, barriers, enablers, or critical success factors of
implementation, adoption, or use;
·case studies on adoption and consequences;
·teaching experiences in HEI.
