The submission deadline for Professional Development Symposia at AMCIS is
coming up on May 8th 10 am ET (NY). Please submit your proposals soon. PDS
offer a great opportunity for a group discussion on timely and relevant
topics. Here are some ideas we are eager to see (but please feel free to
propose your own). Please feel free to reach out to PDS chairs Yafang and
James for quick feedback on your ideas (yli22 at memphis.edu, jgaskin at byu.edu).
· AI in the classroom, and assessment in the era of generative AI
· AI in my job
· AI in social applications
· Engaging businesses in your research
· Grants, grants, grants
· Augmented reality as a context for research
· The entrepreneurial scholar (and avoiding conflict of interest)
*Professional Development Symposia (PDS)* offer the opportunity for
creative, multi- way conversations, and have the potential to offer a
positive impact on the professional development of participants from
different regions, SIGs, chapters, career stages, or backgrounds. Proposals
can be quite brief but should provide an outline sufficient for the
reviewers to be able to make a recommendation on its applicability,
likelihood of drawing an audience, and suitability for the conference. Some
indication of likely presenters would be helpful. The call for proposals
and template to be used are available *here*
