The Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences of the
University of Fribourg (Switzerland) invites applications for a (100%)
professor
position as
*Professorship in Software Engineering (Open Rank)*
at the Department of Informatics. The position includes a fully funded Ph.D.
position (100%). The expected start date is August 1, 2025.
The future professor will teach courses in French and English at the
Bachelor’s
and Master’s levels. The courses on the bachelor level include
Informatique de
gestion I and II, as well as Génie logiciel given in French. One master
course in
English should cover aspects of Advanced Software Engineering.
The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to continuously
conduct and publish high quality research in the field of software
engineering.
The University of Fribourg is bilingual (French/German). Knowledge of the
second language (B1 oral level) is expected. If this is not the case, it
must be
acquired within two years of taking up the post. The University offers

Candidates must have a doctorate (Ph.D.) in computer science, business
informatics or related fields, preferably specializing in software
engineering,
a strong research record, and excellent teaching skills.
