JAIS Theory Development Workshop
In Association with ICIS 2024 Sunday, Dec 15, 2024 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Since December 2002, the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) has organized a number of successful Theory Development Workshops. This year we will hold the 22nd JAIS Theory Development Workshop in conjunction with ICIS in Thailand, Bangkok.
The in-person workshop is scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 15, from 13:00 to 17:00 (1pm - 5pm).
Workshop Information and Format
The workshop is focused on theory building and conceptual foundations in the information systems field. This workshop is interested in theory development, whether based on the analysis and synthesis of literature, explanation of a novel phenomenon supported by theory, or based on the analysis of empirical data (for example, but not limited to, grounded theory and theory building from computational analysis of large data sets). Workshop participants will discuss their work with and get feedback from JAIS SEs, AEs and ERB members and other workshop participants. To be considered, authors must demonstrate significant theory development in their submission. The workshop will consist of two parts. The first part will be a panel/keynote type format open to all registrants of the workshop whether your submission is accepted or not. The second part will be breakout sessions and will be open to those with accepted abstracts.
