The Steering Committee of the International Conference on Conceptual Modeling (the ER conference) is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2024 Peter P. Chen Award: Heinrich Mayr, Alpen-Adria Universität, Klagenfurt, Austria.
Initiated by Elsevier in 2008, the Peter P. Chen Award honors one person each year for his or her outstanding contributions to the field of conceptual modeling. The recipient will receive a plaque and a prize of $2,500 sponsored by Elsevier Publishing Company.
Heinrich Mayr research and contributions to applications have been well-established over a long and illustrious career. His service to the conceptual modeling community has been exemplary; he has been active at the highest levels at the ER conference (twice serving as Steering Committee chair) and in many other respects. He has mentored numerous students who are now established and recognized researchers.
The 202 selection committee consisted of Jeffrey Parsons (Canada, Chair), Nicola Guarino (Italy), Maurizio Lenzerini (Italy), Oscar Pastor (Spain), and Jolita Ralyte (Switzerland).
