*INTRODUCTION*
Big data is an emerging paradigm applied to datasets whose size is beyond
the ability of commonly used software tools to capture, manage, and process
the data within a tolerable elapsed time. Such datasets are often from
various sources (Variety) yet unstructured such as social media, sensors,
scientific applications, surveillance, video and image archives, Internet
texts and documents, Internet search indexing, medical records, business
transactions and web logs; and are of large size (Volume) with fast data
in/out (Velocity). More importantly, big data has to be of high value
(Value) and establish trust in it for business decision making (Veracity).
Various technologies are being discussed to support the handling of big
data such as massively parallel processing databases, scalable storage
systems, cloud/stream computing platforms, and high performance/parallel
computing platforms.
The 18th IEEE International Conference on Big Data Science and Engineering
(BigDataSE-2024) is going to provide a prime international forum for
researchers, industry practitioners and environment experts to exchange the
latest fundamental advances in the state of the art and practice of Big
Data and broadly related areas. The goal of this conference is to promote
community-wide discussion for identifying advanced applications,
technologies and theories for big data. We seek submissions of papers that
invent novel techniques, investigate new applications, introduce advanced
methodologies, propose promising research directions and discuss approaches
for unsolved issues.
BigDataSE-2024 will be hosted in Sanya, China. Sanya, a picturesque coastal
city, offers an ideal setting for the conference and provides opportunities
for exploration, including visits to renowned sites such as Tianya Haijiao,
Wuzhizhou Coral Island, and the beaches of Yalong Bay.
Prospective authors are invited to submit their papers to
BigDataSE-2024. Accepted papers will be submitted for possible inclusion
into IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore's scope and quality
requirements. The authors of selected best papers will be invited post
conference to extend their contributions for special issues of prestigious
journals to be planned in conjunction with the conference.

Message-ID:
<DM8PR03MB6230E466F0C39BF3AEC67FF9989C2 at DM8PR03MB6230.namprd03.prod.outlook.com>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252"
The Association for Information Systems Special Interest Group on Decision Support and Analytics (SIGDSA) is seeking submissions related to teaching decision support and data analytics concepts, tools, and technologies. SIGDSA provides a forum for facilitating constructive discussions for researchers, instructors, and practitioners who are engaged in exploring topics and issues in AI, Business Analytics, and Data Science. The pre-ICIS SIGDSA 2024 Symposium theme is ?Emerging AI Platforms for Societal Good.? This theme reflects the increased emphasis on understanding the impact of emerging digital platforms, such as Generative AI, on community structures, social dynamics, innovation strategies, global trends, and governance reform.
As organizations strive to foster innovation through the digitization of processes, the digitization efforts, as well as the ability to harness insights and value from the tremendous data being generated, present new challenges and opportunities. The explosive growth in big data, fueled by the ubiquity of the Internet of Things (IoT), social media, and technology-facilitated human networks accentuates these opportunities and challenges. The emergence of generative AI tools like ChatGPT and large language models (LLMs) brings transformative potential but also new pedagogical challenges and opportunities. Educators need to dynamically respond to industry needs, developing/updating curricula and teaching practices to prepare the next-generation thinkers and workforce by empowering them with skills and concepts related to decision support and analytics.
Aligned with the Symposium theme of Emerging AI Platforms for Societal Good, we seek submissions focused on teaching. Submissions should address education, pedagogy, curriculum design & implementation, outcomes assessment, distance education challenges, capstone learning projects, technology selection & impact, as it relates to teaching business intelligence, big data analytics, cognitive analytics, social media analytics, machine learning, IoT analytics, data science, visualization, generative AI or other emerging analytic technologies.
We also seek prototype demonstrations or design research idea papers showcasing/discussing innovative analytics methodologies and applications.
Publication Opportunity
Selected high-quality full papers from the Teaching and Prototype Track may have an opportunity to be fast-tracked for publication in the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education (DSJIE). DSJIE accepts 3 categories of papers - Teaching Briefs, Conceptual/Theoretical Articles, and Empirical Research Articles related to teaching.
Submission Categories: Teaching and Prototype Track

My Dear Colleagues,
Given the high cost of travel and issues faced by some authors in obtaining
visas, SIN'24 HAS SHIFTED TO FULLY ONLINE.
The updated CFP now highlights progressive submission and notification
dates, so you did not miss your chances to publish your work. Accepted and
presented papers will be published in IEEE XPlore proceeding.
Hence, you are cordially invited to propose your best work for
consideration towards the 17th IEEE International Conference on Security of
Information and Networks, (SINCONF 2024) sinconf.org.
The current CFP is attached.
Cheers,
Atilla Elci, Ph.D.
