The private sector's sustainability concerns — climate resilience, water
stewardship, biodiversity, circularity, environmental equity, Indigenous
rights, and STEM education — are often managed in silos with separate
budgets and resources. Yet, these sustainability concerns intersect,
offering opportunities for greater efficiencies, synergies, and impact.
For example, nature-based solutions can enhance water quality and boost
biodiversity; corporate contributions can address environmental
inequities and support climate resilience; and circularity can aid
decarbonization. Business managers benefit from understanding these
intersecting strategies for procurement and product development.
