The Management department at Marquette University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems and Analytics starting August 2025.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D., or be close to completing one, in Information Systems, or a closely related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution when employment begins. They should have strong methodological training, outstanding research achievements or potential for publication in top journals, and excellent teaching and communication skills. The new faculty member is expected to be actively involved in research, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, and interfacing with the industry through advisory boards, networking events, and one-on-one interactions.

Candidates should have strong interest in teaching courses preferably in Business Analytics (BUAN), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and be able to teach a class or two in traditional IS courses such as Introduction to IS, Database Management and IT Innovation and Strategy. The candidate should also demonstrate skills in more current areas such as advanced analytics, programming languages in R and Python, emerging and disruptive technologies such as Blockchain.

The new faculty member will be involved in design and support of any new undergraduate programs related to IS as well as future graduate programs such as master's and certificates. Most critically, candidates with a strong publication record/potential are particularly desirable.

Marquette University's College of Business is AACSB-accredited. It is in Milwaukee, a vibrant and diverse business services area with 10 Fortune 500 companies, many of which have strong partnerships with the university. The Management department within the college offers four undergraduate majors (Information Systems, Business Analytics, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship) and two master's degrees - an online MS in Supply Chain Management and a Master's in Management.

The IS and BUAN area delivers a highly applied and experiential undergraduate major, and a related minor, that prepares students for roles that are in high demand. The program has a strong record of student placement with over 91% of IS majors receiving full-time offers and graduate school admissions within 3 months of graduation at leading global technology consulting or risk consulting companies. Students benefit greatly from our deep industry relationships in Milwaukee and Chicago. Both the undergraduate IS and BUAN major has been steadily growing. As such, the college is looking to identify a strong and dynamic candidate who can work with existing IS and Business Analytics faculty to continue to innovate in and grow the area. IS also offers courses at the graduate level, including the MBA and the Executive MBA.

Marquette is a Jesuit institution proud of its liberal arts base. Milwaukee is a "great place on a great lake" with Summerfest, major sports teams, its own symphony, opera, ballet, and repertory companies. It is 90 miles from Chicago, Madison, and Green Bay.

Interested applicants must submit their document to https://employment.marquette.edu/postings/21924 .

Review of applicants will begin October 1st, 2024, and selected applicants will be contacted for interviews and shortlisted candidates will be invited on campus to make presentations.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any inquiries about the position.
