Description

The Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant
Professor position in Information Systems in the department of BISOM. The
successful candidate for this position will engage in high quality
research, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and participate
in departmental governance and service activities. Candidates will be
expected to develop a research record of publication in top tier journals
and a track record of teaching excellence.

The teaching load is highly competitive and will include courses in the
interdisciplinary program in Data Science and Business Analytics as well as
traditional undergraduate and graduate courses within the Business College.

Service to University, the Public, and the Profession – all tenured and
tenure-track faculty are expected to engage in a program of service
appropriate to their discipline. Faculty responsibilities and essential
functions with respect to service may include but are not limited to:
service to the administration and governance of the University, public
service, and service to the profession.

Qualifications

The position requires a doctorate in Information Systems or a closely
related discipline. Additional academic training or professional experience
in Business Analytics will be considered a plus. All degree requirements
are expected to be completed by the time of appointment. Candidates should
have begun to establish a record of excellence in both research and
teaching or show evidence of this potential. Prior teaching experience in
Information Systems is considered a plus. Experience working with student
populations of all cultures and academic backgrounds on reaching successful
outcomes is preferred.
