Applications and nominations are invited for Associate Professors/Assistant Professors in the Department of Information Systems in City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). Suitable candidates may be interviewed in ICIS 2024.

The Department of Information Systems is one of the six departments in CityUHK’s College of Business.  The Department is committed to nurturing smart people for smart business.  We offer two undergraduate BBA programmes, three master programmes, and one PhD programme to a diverse body of students from around the world.  With about 30 research and teaching staff, the department has a rich tradition in Information Systems education.  Our research productivity was ranked No. 15 in the UT Dallas Top 100 World Rankings of Business Schools (UTD top 3 IS journals; 2021-2024) and No. 10 AIS Research Rankings (Senior Scholars’ Basket of 8 journals; 2020-2023).

Duties
Deliver excellent teaching, manage undergraduate and postgraduate courses individually or as a team, and publish top-quality and impactful research.  Associate Professors are expected to assist the department in administrative work and other duties. Successful candidates are expected to teach IS courses at both graduate (MBA/MSc) and undergraduate (BBA) levels.

Requirements
A PhD in Information Systems/Computer Science or a closely related discipline with a strong commitment to high-quality research and excellent teaching in the Information Systems field.  Candidates should have the ability to teach at both the graduate (MBA/MSc) and undergraduate (BBA) levels, demonstrated capability to motivate students to excel in their studies and passion for student caring and mentoring.  Other desirable qualities include the ability to teach in one or more of these areas - AI for Business, IS planning and strategy, AI applications and development, and Fintech-related courses are at a distinct advantage.

Candidates for Associate Professor should have a substantial track record of research publications in top-tier journals.  Candidates for Assistant Professor should have a strong indication of the ability to publish in top-tier journals.

Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.  Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable).  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
