Dear friends,

I’m developing the syllabus for a new doctoral course on HCI that I will be teaching this January.
I then realized I know a large group of brilliant colleagues who may have HCI syllabi that they may be interested in sharing!
If you have taught an HCI course *for PhD students* (or have come across such a syllabus), I would appreciate it if could share it with me by next week - indicating also if you would like to have your course syllabus included in the Teaching Resources section of the SIGHCI website: https://sighci.org/teaching/

-----
Additional information, if interested

For context, the course I will be teaching is described on https://www.hec.ca/en/courses/detail/?cours=TECH80723A <https://www.hec.ca/en/courses/detail/?cours=TECH80723A> .
I have finished putting together a draft of the course syllabus, which prompted me to reflect on two items in particular:

(a) the pedagogical model, including the evaluation approach I’ll be using to assess student performance.
Currently, all work is individual (presentations of assigned article summaries; a lit review (mid-term); a research proposal for an experimental study (end-of-term) - all of which which may be instrumental but limit interactions among students in the course…

(b) the assigned readings
I have compiled a collection of articles published by I.S.-oriented HCI scholars, but also from reference disciplines including Computer Science and Psychology among others. The aim is to afford a comprehensive view (not just IS view) of HCI, potentially enabling greater originality and/or impact in future IS-framed HCI research. My current organization of these readings, all relating to the Course Themes listed in the linked course description above, is as follows:

  1. Introduction to Human-Computer Interaction
  2. Human Factors and Cognitive Science Perspectives in HCI
  3. Design and Computer Science Perspectives in HCI
  4. Social and Organizational Perspectives in HCI
  5. Emerging Trends in HCI
  6. Research in HCI

Thank you for your help!
P.S. Looking forward to seeing many of you in Bangkok for our pre-ICIS SIGHCI Workshop! The program will be shared later this week.

Cordially / Cordialement,
Constantinos
