[SIGHCI] Call for Nominations: Announcing this year's elections for SIGHCI Board roles

Dear SIGHCI members,

This year's elections for the new SIGHCI Board members (a.k.a. Officers) is upon us!
** This is an important election, as we are in need of replacing both of our signing officers whose terms have ended: the Chair and the Secretary/Treasurer. **

Consistent with our bylaws, and as Acting Chair of the Nominations and Elections Committee, I am reaching out to invite you to consider either running or nominating someone for one of the positions listed below:
- Chair
- Secretary/Treasurer
- VP Sponsorship
- Student Ambassador - Region 1 (Americas)
- Student Ambassador - Region 2 (Europe,Middle East, Africa)
- Student Ambassador - Region 3 (Asia Pacific)

For the sake of completion, the rest of the Board is comprised by positions that are not up for election, as their terms run through June 2026; these include:
a) Two Board positions not up for re-election by the membership
- Past Chair: Chee-Wee Tan
- Advisory Board Chair: Constantinos K. Coursaris
- VP Research: Wietske Van Osch
- VP Teaching: Ulrich (Ulli) Gnewuch
- VP Marketing: Pei-Hsuan Hsieh
- VP Membership: Mengyao Fu

b) Two Board-appointed (i.e., non-elected) roles, as follows:
- Webmaster & Listserv Manager: Ulrich Gnewuch
- Newsletter Editor & Social Media Manager: Xiaofei (Tina) Song

Election Process
1. Nominees may come from any AIS region and wide representation is encouraged.

2. Both nominations and self-nominations are welcome. They can be submitted via email to Constantinos Coursaris (ckc at hec.ca<mailto:ckc at hec.ca>) by September 15.

3. The nominee must agree to stand for election, by written notice to Constantinos Coursaris (ckc at hec.ca<mailto:ckc at hec.ca>) by September 22, and must be a member in good standing* of AIS and SIGHCI at the start of their appointment date:
*Individuals can confirm their AIS membership status by logging in on https://aisnet.org/login.aspx, clicking on their name at the top of the webpage —> “Account + Settings”  —> Payments & History  —> “Membership” tab —> Reviewing membership. Then, membership with SIGHCI can be confirmed by clicking on “My Profile" —> ”Groups" —> Confirming AIS SIG HCI is listed.

4. In the event that multiple candidacies are received for the same position, a vote will be carried out electronically in the period of September 23-30; SIGHCI members in good standing will receive an email with a link to password-protected online form. Voting will conclude on September 30 at 23:59 EST.

5. The elected officer(s) will take office on October 1 and they will serve in their elected role for a period of (nearly) two years (i.e., until June 30, 2027).

We look forward to receiving interest in the above roles as well as a wide participation during the voting process!
