The Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences (GSCIS) (http://scis.nova.edu) at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) (http://www.nova.edu/) is embarking on a 5-year growth plan, to reach iSchool status.  GSCIS strives to offer advanced training to aspiring and accomplished professionals seeking to further their skills in information and communication technologies (ICT).
 
We are inviting applications from qualified faculty candidates. Ideal candidates will demonstrate their ability to establish a rigorous, externally funded research program in an ICT field. All areas of specialization will be considered but preference will be given to candidates from the following areas: information security, cybersecurity, information assurance, knowledge management, information architecture, data visualization, enterprise systems, e-business, e-government, healthcare information systems, information systems development, IT project management, information quality, and data mining/business intelligence. Prospective applicants with substantial industry experience in executive roles, who are in position to develop fruitful industry-academic partnerships, are also encouraged to apply.
 
Appointments will be made at the associate and full professor levels. The required qualifications are:
 
1. An earned Ph.D. in an ICT field, and
2. A record of creative, enthusiastic, innovative, and exemplar engagement with students in the classroom, on-the-ground, online, or in blended modalities;
3. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary and global environment in the school, university, and community, and
4. A record of scholarship, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and selective conference proceedings, and
5. A record of funded research demonstrating the ability to attract external funding or
6. Substantial industry experience at a senior/executive level.

Preference will be given to applicants who can build and sustain externally funded research projects, new programs at the masters level, and productive industry partnerships. All positions are based at the main campus in Fort Lauderdale and the appointments commence in July 2011.
 
NSU is a private, not-for-profit, comprehensive university situated in a beautiful campus in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The University comprises medical, optometry, pharmacy, law, and business schools, along with a world-class oceanography center, a college of arts and sciences, and numerous other academic disciplines. GSCIS is co-located with the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, in a modern facility featuring 261,000 square feet of classroom, labs, and office space.
