The Fox School of Business at Temple University announces the Distinguished Visiting Scholar program to recognize internationally renowned scholars and engage them with the Fox School. The program will enable research collaboration, knowledge sharing, and networking. The distinguished scholars typically spend several days to as long as a full academic year (e.g., sabbatical visits) at the Fox School.

The distinguished visiting scholars engage in a variety of activities at the Fox School. These activities may include, but are not limited, to:

1. Participating in research colloquia, such as seminars, panels, or keynote engagements.

2. Collaborating with Fox faculty and PhD students on joint research projects.

3. Engaging with industry partners on research projects with Fox faculty and PhD students.

4. Co-supervising and serving as external readers for PhD dissertations in the Fox School.

5. Participating in research seminars and offering feedback on research projects by Fox faculty.

6. Teaching classes at the Fox School, such as specialized, elective, or regular courses for PhD, MBA, or undergraduate students.

7. Editing their research in a monograph volume published by Temple University Press.

Distinguished Visiting Scholars receive financial support in the form of full or supplemental pay (for full or sabbatical leaves), honoraria, research support, compensation for teaching courses in the Fox School, office space and administrative support, travel and living expenses, housing accommodations, and per-diem support. The exact compensation will be negotiated on an individual basis, and it will be determined based on activities and expected deliverables.

Distinguished visiting scholars are selected on a competitive basis among submissions by either departments or individual faculty. The basis of selection is the scholar's research caliber and reputation, potential or existing collaboration with Fox faculty and PhD students, and existing financial support (e.g., Fulbright scholars).

The Fox School is pleased to announce that Detmar W. Straub, Ph.D. has been appointed the inaugural "Lenfest Distinguished Visiting Professor and Institute for Business and Information (IBIT) Senior Research Fellow". As part of his appointment, Professor Straub will be spending several days every year interacting and working on research projects with Fox faculty and PhD students, offering PhD seminars on research methods, and presenting research projects in the School's colloquium series.
