2nd CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

8th Scandinavian Workshop on e-Government - SWEG 2011

In Tampere, Finland on February 7-8 2011

Web site: http://www.tut.fi/sweg2011

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
SWEG(*) is a forum for discussing current e-government issues. This year's theme is "Improving e-Government". We warmly welcome contributions dealing with how, why or what ways the research and practice of e-Government can be improved.

The workshop theme "Improving e-Government" should be interpreted as the relation to pluralism of e-Government research and practice. Different forms of improvements may necessitate, require, exploit, take place, affect or induce different kinds of stakeholders, technologies, objectives, interests, costs, measures, measurements, or practices, among many others. We invite submissions within these and other themes within e-Government and welcome contributions from a range of disciplines such as public administration, political science, information systems / informatics, knowledge management, service management, economics, sociology, and law. The workshop invites both full research papers and short discussion papers. Research may range from empirical studies to pure conceptual work.

The general objective of SIG e-Government is to promote quality and relevance in e-Government research this workshop being one in a series dedicated to discussing the most important issues today and different possible ways forward. Similarly to previous SWEG workshops, also this workshop is dedicated to open discussions about the current status of e-Government research and future directions. The focus is thus on informal discussion than formal conference presentations. Instead of publishing proceedings formally, we will use this workshop to prepare papers for publication in established outlets. Consequently, material presented at SWEG will not be copyright protected and can be submitted to other conferences or journals without further questions.

SUBMISSIONS
We welcome both full research papers and shorter research in progress or discussion papers. Full papers, max 5000 words, should present studies where the results are almost ready to be published in more established forums. Short papers and discussions papers, max 2000 words, may present more provocative or immature ideas that are wanted to be tested, or work-in-progress type of research which are not yet publishable in the form of full papers. Irrespective of the form, all submissions should be designed to support in-depth discussions during the workshop. For the workshop papers will be
clustered and each session will discuss a small set of papers focusing on similar or related issues.

Review: Each submission will be peer-reviewed by the workshop two reviewers.
