The Department of Management of the School of Business at the American
University in Cairo (AUC) invites applications for a one year, renewable
position.  We are seeking outstanding candidates in the area of Management
Information Systems.  Appointments may be made at either Assistant or
Associate Professor level.  Responsibilities include undergraduate and
graduate teaching in the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration,
Bachelor of Business Administration in Management of Information and
Communication Technology, and the MBA program starting September 2011.  The
applicant should be actively engaged in research and have a solid
understanding of the developments and emerging trends in information and
communication technology as well as management information systems (MIS).
Applicants will also contribute to the design and development of the
Department's MIS courses.  Applicants will be expected to engage in ongoing
activities in the department and school consistent with teaching and
research.  The successful applicant will have expertise in one or more of
several possible subfields, including management support systems, IT project
management, database management, networking, electronic business, software
development, IT innovation, and IT entrepreneurial expertise.

 

Requirements: 
Candidates must have a PhD in Management Information Systems, or a
comparable discipline.  A Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited university is
preferred.  Applicants should demonstrate high potential for a strong record
in research and excellent student evaluation in teaching.  Moreover, a
record of high quality scholarship or evidence of the ability to produce
intellectual contributions leading to publication in refereed journals is
required.

This is a one-year appointment.  Renewal will depend upon institutional
needs as well as the appointee's performance.  Applications reviews will

successful candidate will be expected to formulate a research program and to
contribute effectively to both undergraduate and graduate teaching and
should be dedicated to quality teaching, research and service.  Applicants
