Discipline of Family Medicine

 

The Discipline of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Memorial
University of Newfoundland, is inviting applications for a tenure track
position in Health Informatics. The appointment will be at the Assistant
Professor level.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience.

 

Candidates are expected to possess a PhD in Information Systems as
related to health. Individuals who are currently in the later stages of
their graduate training are encouraged to apply. A completed earned
doctorate is required for the appointee to receive the rank of Assistant
Professor and to be in a tenure-track position. (If a successful
candidate has not completed an earned doctorate, he/she shall be
appointed to a regular term, non-renewable three-year appointment at the
rank of Assistant Professor.  If the candidate completes all the
requirements for the doctorate during the first 24 months of the term
appointment, he/she shall begin a tenure-track appointment following
completion of the requirements of the degree).

 

Applications are invited from candidates with experience in the
development, use and impact of information system technologies in
health. The e-Health Unit's current research agenda focuses on
evaluation frameworks and adoption of technologies in practice (

expertise in human computer interaction, data mining, databases, or
distributed systems in health is desirable. The successful candidate is
expected to build her/his own teaching and research activities and
collaborate with other academic departments and units at Memorial
University.
