Call for Papers: SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE of the AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF COMPUTER ETHICS (AiCE) - www.auscomputerethics.com

13th and 14th of February, 2012, Melbourne, Australia.

AiCE 2012 will be hosted by the School of Information Systems, Deakin University, Burwood Campus, Australia.

Conference Theme: The overall theme of AiCE2012 is the impact of Social Media on Computer Ethics, both in an Australian and global context.

Papers are invited from relevant disciplines such as business, government, computer science, information systems, law, social sciences and philosophy.

Some example areas of interest for papers:

-Social Media and Ethics - What are the ethical issues posed by social media and how can these issues and challenges be met?
-Encouraging and enforcing professional standards - How applicable and useful are professional standards in dealing with the ethical considerations of Social Media?;
-Developing information systems now and in the future - How to ensure social value issues are properly addressed in system design;
-Organizations and Computer Ethics - the role of the organisation in formulating Social Media ethical guidelines;
-Security and computer misuse - How can ethics contribute and raise awareness to Social Media computer misuse and security issues?

Submissions on other relevant topics are also welcome.

Two types of papers are being sought:

- Full Research Papers. All submissions must be in English and limited to 3,500 words. Each paper will be blind refereed by at least two reviewers. Papers should be submitted in MS Word format.
- Discussion Papers. All submissions must be in English and be limited to an abstract of 500 to 1000 words. 

The abstracts will be reviewed for relevance. Abstracts should be submitted in MS Word format. 

Full Paper/Abstracts due: 14th October 2011. 

Paper Submission

Submitted papers must not substantially overlap papers that have been published or that are simultaneously submitted to a journal or a conference with proceedings. The final version of the manuscripts must be formatted according to the AiCE template (available via www.auscomputerethics.com).

Registration Costs
-Conference Registration - $600 
- Student Registration (Full time student*) - $300 
(*Note: Proof of full time student status will be required)
