The Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Towson University invites applications for one tenure-track position in its Information Technology (IT) program. Position requires a doctorate degree in an IT-related field.  Applicants with industry experience and the potential to apply for research funding are preferred. The selected candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, participate in department activities, conduct research, and supervise graduate students.

The Department offers an ABET/CAC-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, and a Doctor of Science in Information Technology.  In addition, the Department collaborates with the School of Emerging Technology (SET) in offering a Master of Science degree in Applied Information Technology.

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences has 36 full-time faculty members, collectively over 750 undergraduate majors in the Computer Science, Information Systems, and Information Technology programs, and approximately 150 graduate students. Since 2002, the security tracks in the undergraduate and graduate CS/AIT programs have made Towson University a designated Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

Founded in 1866, today Towson University is recognized by U.S. News & World Report's as one of the top public universities in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
