*** EJIS Author Development Workshop ***
Organized by the European Journal of Information Systems and AIS Region 2
In conjunction with the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS
2012)

About EJIS
As one of the six journals in the so called "AIS Senior Scholars' Basket of
Journals", the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS) is among the
top journals in the IS field. EJIS provides a distinctive European
perspective on the theory and practice of information systems for a global
audience. The journal encourages first rate research articles by academics,
but also case studies and reflective articles by practitioners. EJIS
provides a critical view on technology, development, implementation,
strategy, management and policy.

Aims and scope of the workshop
This workshop is intended to provide guidance to IS researchers interested
in publishing in top IS journals, such as EJIS. It is particularly designed
to assist colleagues who have not been able yet to get their work published
in top outlets, but have already advanced it to a very promising state. The
workshop is limited to 20 participants from AIS Region 2 (Europe, Africa and
Middle East). The papers selected will be those likely to benefit most from
feedback in the workshop. While submission is open to all AIS Region 2
researchers, priority will be given to junior and mid-career researchers
that have not published in a high-impact journal to-date.

Submission guidelines and important dates
Interested participants should send
(a) A paper (6000words max), with an abstract (limited to 200 words)
   - Only completed research papers will be considered.
   - The paper should start with a title page with full contact details of
the author(s).
(b) A brief CV (1 page), stating the date of PhD completion

- Submission date: April 20th 2012
- Notification of acceptance: May 10th 2012
- Reviews for the authors in the same workshop group: June 1st 2012

Papers should be sent in word or pdf format to Dr Nancy Pouloudi
(pouloudi at aueb.gr), clearly marked as a 'Submission to the EJIS Author
Workshop' in the Subject line.

Workshop date: Afternoon of June 13th 2012 (12-6pm), immediately after ECIS
2012 concludes. Light lunch and coffee will be provided, courtesy of the
EJIS Publisher, Palgrave. The exact venue will be announced in due course.

Workshop format
Accepted working papers will be grouped in teams of 4 or 5. Each group will
be coached by an AE of EJIS. The workshop will also include a series of
plenary sessions, to discuss the lessons learned from the groups and present
common good and bad practice based on the experience of the EJIS editorial
team.

Preparation for the workshop
Authors will give a very brief (5 minutes) presentation of their paper. They
will be given access to the other papers in their group prior to the
workshop, and are expected to prepare a brief review of each of the other
papers in the group (3 to 4). Reviews should be constructive: what can the
author(s) do to improve the paper? (Detailed guidelines will be provided
later in the process.) These reviews should be sent to the authors a week
before the ECIS conference (on the 1st of June) and will be discussed on the
day of the workshop.

Cost
The workshop is free of charge and open to the invited participants only.

Disclaimer
Participation in the workshop does NOT guarantee publication of the author's
work in EJIS.
