********************************************************************************
The "Quality in Web Engineering" workshop (QWE) is aimed
at bringing together professionals and researchers
interested in discussing recent trends and perspectives in
the role of quality in Web Engineering. The purpose of QWE
is to assess the effectiveness of existing approaches for
evaluating and managing the quality of Web resources
(e.g., quality models, quality evaluation methods,
information quality tools, logging tools, automatic metric
capture tools, etc.), with the final objective of allowing
researchers and practitioners to discuss recent trends and
open issues. Special emphasis will be posed on Web
Engineering methods, and the way in which their early
artifacts (process and product models) can improve both
the quality of the development process and the quality of
the final applications and content.
This year’s edition will also extend its scope to target
the broader concept of quality both in Web processes, Web
artifacts, Web products (applications, services) and in
Web content. In particular, the workshop will try to
encourage the discussion on the current trends in the
creation of modern Web applications, commonly referred to
as Web 2.0 applications.

More information on the Workshop can be found at the
Workshop Web site: http://www.dsic.upv.es/workshops/qwe12

TOPICS OF INTEREST

Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

  * Quality definition and assessment
o Information quality dimensions: estimation of
information age, provenance, validity, coverage, and
completeness or correctness.
o Web sources reputation and trustworthiness
o Quality assessment and improvement methods
o Comparative analysis of quality metrics
        o Theoretical/empirical validation of quality
metrics
o Tools for automatic quality assessment
  * Quality-aware design and development
o Quality guidelines, factors, criteria, metrics,
patterns, and recommendations
        o Ergonomic/HCI criteria and principles
        o Usability and accessibility
o Quality of information integration on the Web
o Management of quality requirements in Web
projects
        o Role of groups, communities
o Integration of quality assessment activities in
the development processes
o Early quality assessment (e.g., based on models,
user interfaces prototypes, etc.)
        o User Experience
        o Empirical studies
        o Industrial experiences

Papers focusing on Web 2.0 applications are especially
encouraged. However, contributions focusing on more
traditional Web domains are also welcome.

SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION

The proceedings of ICWE 2012 workshops will be published
by Springer in its Lecture Notes in Computer Science
series. Paper length is 12 pages. For formatting
guidelines and submission instructions please consult the
Paper Submission page at
