This special issue of the KM&EL international journal is dedicated to
coverage of technology in higher education and human performance. Fierce
competition, globalization, and a dynamic economy have forced
organizationsand individualsto search for new ways to strengthen their
competitive advantages. In pursuance
this, improvement of learning and human performance for sustainable
development has been recognized as a key strategic issue. It becomes
crucial to help learners in educational institutions and knowledge
workersin various organizations to
improve their self-directed and life-long learning, especially via using
information and communication technologies in the digital economy.



While implementing technology-enhanced learning, a variety of aspects have
to be taken into account including learning and instructional theories,
educational technology, curriculum development, knowledge management,
performance evaluation, organizational culture, etc. This special
issueaims to provide a forum for academics and practitioners to
explore issues
related to the design, evaluation and application of technologies in higher
education and human performance development.



The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

   - E-learning in higher education
   - Distance education and lifelong learning
   - Computer-assisted learning
   - Instructional design in online learning
   - Online curriculum development
   - Web-based corporate training
   - Knowledge management
   - Adult learning and human performance
   - Impact of technology on learning



We are interested in both theoretical and practical papers that aim to
improve learning and human performance by applying the latest technological
advances. We would like to stimulate interest in the issues across
academia, practice, industry, research and policy, and therefore we welcome
focused papers from all sectors.

Electronic submission by email to Guest Editors is required (magwang at hku.hkor
samchang at ntnu.edu.tw ).



Papers must not have been published, accepted for publication, or presently
be under consideration for publication elsewhere. A standard double-blind
review process will be used for selecting papers to be published in this
special issue. Authors should follow the instructions outlined in the KM&EL
